The design of Video Media Instruction as a Chemistry Instructional package to teach    Volumetric Analysis all through in Senior Secondary Schools, as well as Cartoons and Vignettes that can serve as advanced organisers to make learning Basic Science meaningful in junior secondary schools. These have been found useful; more recently with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic which has made student-teacher physical contact relatively impossible.

  3. I have facilitated the Capacity Building Programme for Teachers under Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) in Osun State (2009-2011). I also led the Chemistry Team for software development for Educational Android (Opon Imo) in Osun State (2013-2015). I have delivered several public lectures and trained many primary and secondary school teachers on pedagogy in the areas of Chemistry, Basic Science and general classroom practices. I am a member, of the Board of Governors of Okanlawon Science Academy, Osogbo and a certified professional teacher by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) since 2011. I am a member of the Living Hope Development Initiative LHDI; a non-governmental organization for human development executing many programs on international funding. Of recent, I have been a facilitating partner with Jewels of Africa Foundations (JOA-foundations); a non-governmental organization helping to engage underprivileged youths in the under-served regions of Nigeria and Ghana. I have been engaged to teach Chemistry under JOA-foundations-OAU JAMB Readiness initiatives with more than 100 students in Ilesa Osun State. Recently, I was engaged as a Facilitator/Mentor in the UBEC-Abuja/SUBEB-Osun Mandatory Cluster Meeting which is a Teacher-professional development programme in Osun State for Elementary and Middle school teachers.

CONTRIBUTION TO KNOWLEDGE  

My research work has contributed to knowledge by providing technologically influenced instructional strategies that could link cognition to experiences that are common to the learners (Adetunji A.A. (2011) on Impact of Instructional Technology and the Use of Manual Guide in Practical Chemistry; Adetunji, A.A., Oloyede, E.O., Bamidele, E.F. & Bada, T.A. (2012) on Comparative Effectiveness of Video Media Instruction and Laboratory Teaching Technique in Learning Practical Chemistry in Senior Secondary Schools.).

My research work has also provided effective means of evaluating implementation of secondary school Chemistry curriculum through ascertaining better means of assessing students’ learning outcomes via investigation of psychometric properties of  different scoring methods of multiple choice test (Awodele, B.A., Faremi, Y.A., Adetunji, A.A. & Bamidele, E.F. (2013) on Difficulty and Discrimination Indices (DDI) of Logical-choice Weight and Confidence Scoring Methods on Chemistry Multiple-choice Test in Nigeria Secondary Schools; Awodele, B.A., Adediwura, A.A., Adetunji, A.A., Bamidele, E.F., & Ajeigbe, T.O. (2013) on Comparative Effectiveness of Logical-choice Weight and Confidence Scoring Methods on Reliability and Validity (RV) of Chemistry Multiple-choice Test Items in Nigerian Secondary Schools. DDI and RV being the psychometric properties under the investigations).

Furthermore, my research work had adapted David Ausubel’s Advance Organizer using historical simulation, role play, storytelling and concept mapping in entrenching the entry behaviour/previous knowledge  and as an anchorage to the new science concepts to be introduced to the learners. These had been found to have improved the performance and attitude of learners in Basic Science and Chemistry (Adetunji, A.A., Bamidele, E.F. & Awodele, B.A. (2013) on  Effects of Historical Simulations as Narrative and Graphic Advance Organizers on Nigerian Junior Secondary School Students’ Learning Outcomes in Basic Science; Bamidele, E.F., Adetunji, A.A., Awodele, B.A. & Irinoye, J. (2013) on Attitudes of Nigerian Secondary School Chemistry Students towards Concept Mapping Strategies in Learning the Mole Concept). My position article paper work had prepared science educators to prepare for globalization to normalise their pedagogy while implementing Nigeria education curriculum, for a change in Europe, America, Asia and other continents may necessitate this curriculum innovation  (Adetunji, A.A., Bamidele, E.F., Ojediran, I. My research work had validated some result-oriented instructional strategies and methods which are activity-based as implicitly recommended in the secondary school curriculum under Students’ and Teachers’ Activities (Irinoye, J., Bamidele, E.F., Adetunji, A.A. & Awodele, B.A. (2015) on Relative  Effectiveness of Guided Inquiry and Demonstration Methods on Students Performance in Practical Chemistry in the Secondary Schools in Osun State Nigeria; Bamidele, E.F., Irinoye, J. & Adetunji, A.A. (2019) on Influence of Locus of Control and Constructivist Instructional Techniques on High School Chemistry Students’ Performance in Osun State, Southwestern-Nigeria and Adetunji, A.A. & Adereti, T.A. (2020). Effects of Guided Discovery and Reciprocal Peer-Tutoring Instructional Strategies on Biology Students’ Learning outcomes in Ile-Ife, Nigeria). Of recent, my opinionated position paper as presented at a conference proceedings had proffered solution to funding secondary school Chemistry laboratory via blocking the leakage of financing practical Chemistry education (Adetunji, A.A., Bamidele, E.F. & Awodele, B.A. (2020).

Chemistry Curriculum Implementation and Anti-Corruption Crusade In Osun State High Schools). My research recently revealed the adequacy of resources for teaching Agricultural Science in secondary schools. This assessment has revealed the baseline for building entrepreneurial skills in young school leavers via Agricultural Science as a school subject. (Ewuola, W.O., Bamidele, E.F. & Adetunji, A.A. (2021) on An investigation into the Adequacy of Resources for Teaching Practical Agricultural Science in Secondary Schools in Osun State, Nigeria).

My study had also assessed the implementation of Basic Science and Technology Curriculum in Oyo State Junior Secondary Schools where the compliance with teachers’ and students’ activities as stipulated in the curriculum as well as execution and reflection of appropriate methodology in teaching were examined. It was found out that the level of implementation was moderate (Adetunji, A.A. & Alabi, T.A. (2023)). As a College of Education teacher and a Facilitator with the National Open University of Nigeria, I have provided information on the pedagogical strategies of science curriculum in teacher education at collegiate, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

My recent coordinating assignment with UBEC/SUBEB typified by mentoring teachers in the area of curriculum implementation via practical sessions of lesson studies and contributory cluster meeting have improved quality of teaching and learning in Osun Basic Education. Also, pedagogical skills acquisition training for teachers of Medicine and Medical Sciences had improved the medical curriculum implementation in terms of organisation and lesson delivery in medical training school.
