Dr Thomas Ajibade Adebisi

Thomas Ajibade Adebisi is a Nigerian Science Education scholar specializing in Physics Education, Curriculum Studies, and Science Teacher Education. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Science and Technology Education, Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University.

He holds a B.Sc. (Ed.) Physics (1997) from the University of Ilorin, an M.Ed. in Science Education (2002) from the University of Ibadan, and a Ph.D. in Science Education (2014) from Ekiti State University. He is a registered member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

His research focuses on Physics Education, science learning difficulties, curriculum development, instructional strategies, STEM and TVET education, assessment practices, and the integration of technology and e-learning in science teaching. His scholarly work examines how cognitive, psychological, and pedagogical factors influence students’ achievement, attitudes, and skills acquisition in science, particularly Physics.

He has published extensively in peer-reviewed national and international journals, edited volumes, and conference proceedings. His research contributions span topics such as problem-solving in Physics, practical science instruction, cognitive styles, gender and achievement in science, spatial ability, instructional innovation, and curriculum reform for sustainable development.

He has supervised undergraduate research projects and postgraduate students and is actively involved in academic administration, including postgraduate coordination and curriculum-related responsibilities.

He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), TRCN, National Association of Physics Educator, and other education-focused associations. He also serves as a reviewer for academic journals in science education and related fields.

His ongoing research interests include blended learning, social-emotional learning in science education, STEM curriculum innovation, and strategies for improving science education outcomes in developing contexts.
